Celebrating Dad: The Ultimate MVP Journey

I could hardly believe it when I heard the news. After all these years of working side by side in the Microsoft world, my dad is now an MVP! 🏆

It feels like just yesterday that I started my journey in tech, back at Tam Tam. It all started when my dad took me to a Microsoft event in Brussels, where I saw the Learning Gateway built on SharePoint 2007. That experience ignited a passion that would shape my career and my entire approach to technology, starting with building a trading solution on SharePoint 2003 for a Dutch bank, 10 years later becoming an MVP. Fast forward nearly 20 years, and it’s almost surreal to see him receive this prestigious recognition as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional.

What makes this moment even more special is the fact that we’ve spent almost two decades navigating the Microsoft ecosystem together. We’ve shared countless experiences, learned from each other, and grown side by side in the community. While our paths haven’t always been the same as he focusses on Education and I do not, his passion for technology and his dedication to his work has always been a huge source of inspiration for me. Seeing his hard work being recognized with the MVP award is truly a proud moment.

This journey has been more than just professional growth, It has been a shared adventure. We visited so many different conferences together! It’s a privilege to have witnessed his impact on the Microsoft community and to have been a part of it myself. His passion for what he does has been contagious, and it’s inspiring to know that even after all these years, we continue to fuel each other’s drive for innovation.

Looking ahead, I’m beyond excited for next year when we’ll be attending the MVP Summit together (hoping that I can stay in the program for another year 😇). The idea of sharing this milestone with him is something I’ll cherish forever.

Here’s to a future of our shared tech journey and all the exciting things still to come.
